Hi.

Hey, I'm Chris. Welcome to my blog. I write about life, love, faith, and the pursuit of beauty. Thanks for stopping by!

Praise The Lord

Praise The Lord

You're not who I thought You were

Praise the Lord

Lyrics of the cross. Lyrics of truth. These lyrics soothed my spirit last night as I grappled with the unknowns in life. It seems the longer I journey with Christ, the more questions I have. Life throws curveballs every day that don't fit into my tidy box of who I think God is. Of Who I know Him to be.

But Who wants a God we can understand? A God we can put in a tidy box and wrap with a perfect bow?

This is one of my favorite songs by Crowder.

I used to keep You in a steeple

Used to bind You in a Book

I used to take You like prescription

Without knowing what I took

But now I just don't buy it anymore

No, I've tried and I've tried to know everything for sure

But I find I know less as I come to know You more

You're not who I thought You were

Praise the Lord

I am grateful that we have a God Whose ways are not our ways and Whose thoughts are not our thoughts. I will never be able to nail Him down, put Him a particular category. But that's what makes Him God. And that's where my heart finds comfort. My soul can rest in the assurance that He is holding it all together...Praise the Lord.
